Fostering mentorship opportunities by connecting more experienced parent-educators with newer parent-educators
Using the Bible as our primary foundation for all matters pertaining to life and godliness
Offering weekly academic instruction using Biblically-informed methods of education
Our name, SCHOLA, is an acronym developed from the six foundational pillars of our fellowship, which guide the educational methodology, subject content, and conduct within our community are:
1) Scripture is necessary and practically useful in the life of every believer. (2 Tim 3:16, Psa 119:9-12, 105, John 14:15)
2) Community is an integral aspect of the Christian life (Heb 10:24-25, Prov 27:17)
3) Humility is the cornerstone of a Christian’s heart attitude towards God and others. (Psa 25:9, James 4:10, Phil 2:3-8)
4) Order (as in Ordo Amoris) is the proper ordering of our affections towards what is true, worthy, and eternally valuable. (Phil 4:8, Matt 6:21, 1 Cor 3:9-15)
5) Love is the essence of God and the foundation of the believer's new heart towards God and his fellow man (Matt 22:37-40, John 13:34-35, 1 John 4:7-8)
6) Academics are a means by which to gain wisdom and see God in every area from nature to science to literature to art to music to dance. (Prov 4:7, 1 Cor 10:31, Phil 1:9-11)
